This flag design was created for a class I took with Peter Lunenfeld at UCLA. Throughout the course, we read from his book, City at the Edge of Forever, which compiles stories about his distinctive experiences as an Angeleno. For our assignment, we were asked to create a design response to one of the chapters. I chose “Space Port Alpha,” a chapter that delves into topics like the Spaceforce industry, Playboy, and libertines. Rather than attempt to summarize the entire chapter here, I drew inspiration from its mix of themes to create my own reinterpretation of the classic “Don’t Tread On Me” flag.
